VIANNEY BHAVAN

Our Story

Vianney Bhavan, being the Regional Philosophy Seminary for the formation of the Diocesan Clergy in Odisha, strives to foster ‘Diocesan Spirituality’ in the lives of the seminarians.

Our Mission

Spirituality is not merely external acts of prayers, though regularity in them is a good indication of commitment and steadiness of character.

Our Vision

It is an ongoing relationship between God & human beings. Only a personal & profound involvement with God gives the strength to practice the essential virtues.

Our Causes

Vianney Bhavan, being the Regional Philosophy Seminary for the formation of the Diocesan Clergy in Odisha, strives to foster ‘Diocesan Spirituality’ in the lives of the seminarians. The Spirituality of a Diocesan Priest may embody various aspects. However, the following areas are considered indispensable: 1. Commitment to Jesus who has called the young man. 2. Commitment to the ‘Local Church’ to which the seminarian has offered his service. 3. Commitment to the Bishop, who is the centre of unity in the ‘Local Church’. 4. Commitment to the Presbyterium of the Diocese to which he belongs.

Though the number of young men who responded to the priestly calling gradually increased during the last two decades, there were no major seminaries in the State of Odisha to train the local clergy.
